That seems to confirm that demons and gods are just the same. It just that they hide in the front of the Good.

Hmm. Alive. Bacteria and viruses would have mana too. Then maybe there are magical diseases? Diseases caused by microorganism that can use magic?

Hmm. So you can’t really differentiate things by their mana? There was a passage in the book, when Tom was flying over a field where he found that animals and plants glow. It was described that they have different colors. Isn’t it mana? Or animus?

Are we talking about fluid reality again! OMG!

    @Tizzy:

Buildings move around? It certainly is lucky… or I say coincedental… that “The Ripe Young Maiden’s Surprise” stay its ground when Tom is looking for it. Though if what you say is true, navigating that city is a nightmare! Harry Potter got lost on those switching stairs, changing city scape? Nightmare! I also wonder why the stores need to change location and image. Location and Branding is a very powerful factor for a business. You can’t really just change your location and branding willy-nilly or you loose your business. That might indicate that demons has no sense of business.

Though I am wondering why there are many collapsed buildings if they took such toil to present vanity.

The Economy is also something I discussed before but people seems uninterested in it. No one seems interested with it now too.

I’m also just pointing out these weird things but, really, I don’t mind them much. T-A-G might have something in mind for doing so and I for one is looking forward to it.

As for reality, keep observing or they might disappear when you are not looking.

If people are so interested in history, why don’t they let the Seers scry it. They would provide a more accurate account of the past than rellying on the very unreliable brain for that. As it seems, Maelen and others seems to be a devote to the study of history. Maelen was able to recognize Ramses’ time warrior uniform even if it was not seen for a millinia.

Well, there are always ‘good’ guys that band together to fight the ‘bad’ guys, and there are always ‘bad’ guys that band together to fight the ‘good’ guys. The order of The Rod of Tiernon and Exador, Ramses, Bess team are given in the book.

Wizzards to seem to wor together, though clearly not out of duty, religion, camaraderie or values. Heck, those big shots are very unfriendly and unapproachable. They work together more for mutual benefit than anything else.

Hmm. Isn’t your true name an essence of who you are? Then changing your true name essentially makes you not you.

A device that shows your true name… might not be possible. I mean, there is nothing in a true name to detect. You can say tell what a color a mineral is or how much it weigh or how dull it is, but, unless you know the name of the mineral, there is nothing in the mineral that would tell you what its name is. You can’t pick a magnifying glass or something that would tell you it is called _____. And that is for something mundane, like the name of the mineral (which is quite finite in number). Now for names (which is infinite in number), a device such as that is even more impossible. But still it is a fantasy world, anything is possible, even break the law of the universe.

As for gods seeing other god’s agents as demons. That bids the question, how could a god (or anyone) tell its a demon? And if a god can mistake other entities as demons, does that mean, these entities and demons are basically the same? Could you even say that these gods are demons themselves?

Hmmm. Why? Why are they nervous about it. Wouldn’t people be glad that their god help them?

Can’t they shape change to anything? I have asked a similar question before about demons shapeshifting to other creatures that aren’t human like elves, dwarves and ogres. Or could they shapeshift and take the form of other demons or a demon shape of their own imagination. Could they even shapeshift to animals like wolves, lions, and elephants. Or why don’t they do a partial shapeshift like making their reach longer or having extra sets of limbs.

Shapeshifting is amazing. I would love to have that ability if I choose among others.

Well, Lenamare’s book is a very specific kind, its a macguffin. Essentially an object/person that the characters covet but do no actual thing in the plot. Its main purpose is to make the characters move. Many examples abound: the fountain of youth (many fantasy stories especially ones about the knights of the round table), pokemon badges (pokemon franchise), Kidnaped children/son/daughter (many stories like The Great Mouse Detective). All these things do is provide something for the characters to acquire which, adding some antagonist, creates tenion and conflict. Otherwise it have no other great purpose.

Well, I do know a phonebook do become a plot device. Remember Terminator? Terminator robot killed the victims in accordance to phonebook listing.

Maou, that idea is something that won’t be explored in the books I guess.

The Deposed King. I don’t think he was practicing his shielding. From the book, he is most concerned in controlling his living fire form hence the need for a larger room.
