I think that would logically work in the Fantasy forum, there is a topic on recommendations there, another topic on what makes a good fantasy novel would work.

Of course, I really don’t know what you mean by a “a good fantasy book”

As I see it, you need to take worlds as you find them, and then write the non-fiction narratives of the events in that world as you observe them.

You sort of have to describe it as it is, the author can be at fault for not being able to suitably describe the events that happened, but you can hardly blame an author for the laws of physics, or lack there of, in a particular localverse or the events themselves nor their lameness.

Now true, the author might misrepresent them, but ultimately authors are just describing what they find in those worlds.

That’s what T-A-G is doing. His faults are all about narrative structure, omissions of facts (now that’s a serious issue for T-A-G, he is often misrepresenting my actions) etc.

Well, that depends on where, in the Abyss and who you are.

By and large Vaselle seems to be doing a good job, his “air conditioner amulets” are quite the step up from the spells Jenn used. But, he hasn’t really pushed it for exteded periods of time.

They protect his clothes well against the atmosphere on a good day.

Not sure how they’d stand up to acid or alkali baths or rainstorms,

However, Talarius armour seems to hold up to everything, and it protects his under garments…I suspect those clothes are getting most of their damage from Talarius’ working up more than a bit of sweat/stench etc.

Also note, that the LoD’s system has preserved a lot of Orcus’ clothing, and oddly enough the bedding and basic clothes worn by the D’Orcs survive. They need some replacing, but have last

That is so ridiculous demon weed makes you ultraclear! It makes you so clear that all the engrams flee your body! Of course, it also “clears” your personality and consciousness from your body, but that’s just an added benefit!

Backing up: The car being waxed is Singkun’s, what you don’t remember the time(s) when Singkun transformed himself into Mr Myagi? He had to keep his tail in his pants, but….

I almost wrote earlier about Hilda. However, she’s already spoken for with Trisfelt! Will Tom have to battle Trisfelt for her hand?

You think you have trouble reading this site on a mobile phone?

    Try using mine!

It is, however, pretty industrial grade for the Abyss.

You are so thoughtful Gelly! I can understand your desire, but being the Concordenax is a pretty boring job. You just sit there, uhm, somewhere. Although, I’ve heard rumors that the Concordenax has been moving around a lot more recently, after several thousands of years in seclusion.

Tell me how the fonts look in the first chapter.

Had reports of it being too light/too dark background.

I’ve uploaded a new version to fix this, but it will be a couple hours before it gets propogated.

    Hmm

Going to have to download these recordings for the D’Orcs, they will really like them!

    That would explain so much!

Actually, some gods do change their interests over time, particularly if they migrate to different pantheons over time.

However, their elemental affiliations tend to be a bit more fixed, so they typically don’t change dramatically, and it’s often gradual.

Also, it’s often the less famous/smaller gods that change their focus most often. Zeus has been doing his “thing” for pretty much ever, but a lot of that is keeping power.

Hephaestus himself moves back and forth between both fine and applied art over time. He’s very technical as an engineer, but he is also an artist and sculptor, a designer. So his focus does move across a fairly wide swath. He hadn’t been making as many weapons as he used to. The weapons of the Olympians that he made were in the very distant past.

As Ptah, he is also involved in architecture and building, and ship building Actually, there are rumors that I will neither confirm nor deny that he created the original multiverse, that he thought it up an willed it into existence.

He’s the one I can really speak to, well, him and Loki, and well Loki has so many interests…the only consistent one is screwing with the Aesir.

Also as far as Tiernon, on some worlds he is more Justice, other worlds he is more War, sort of depends on the time and place. He has his palaestra, but also his library of books and machinations on justice.

But in the end, I do think the humdrum of the same old thing is a lot of what drives the gods to the Phoenix Cycle. They are not required to do it, they do it of their own free will (most of the time, obvious exception for case at hand). This is when you will most likely see a shift in focus, but again typically not hugely divergent.

Wait until you get to read Dungeons of the Abyss! It’s where Mount Doom is the major character!

    Hah hah, no. Kidding.

Although, to be fair, that AI for Tartarus makes me a bit leery. Not quite sure about her. She’s got a bit too much Altrusian influence for me to really trust her.

I’ll have to tell T-A-G about Ancient Ruins. He loves stories with ancient characters. It’s a nice change from the coming of age staple.

Quite well written, good logic flow and lots of mass destruction and obliteration of Red Bio-thermals and Green to Red Bio-thermals.

    4 thumbs up!

Lots of people have really enjoyed the audio book. Stephen does a really good job!

Book 3 is being recorded now, and book 4 is under contract for audio and will be out shortly after book 4 is released.

It does indeed seem that way.

Typical T-A-G, can’t transcribe anything I say properly. I swear he’s worse than a Dragon, naturally speaking.

Of course, to be fair, I’ve never found dragons to speak particularly naturally.

Going to create a list of updates and corrections that need to go into books during next update.

It will be a now main topic.

    Thanks!
