“He has also met and dealt with Lenamare’s greater demon, Zargoffelstan,” Tut added.

Langland, J.. The Apostles of Doom (Demons of Astlan Book 3) (Kindle Locations 2756-2757). Council of Wizardry. Kindle Edition.

    He = Zargoffelstan

The way the sentence is written implies the greater demon is Zargoffelstan instead of Tom.

Worm??? Really, seems like an odd crossover (read Worm on http://parahumans.wordpress.com/ ), but okaaaaay.

BTW, if anyone ever thinks a story is too long I just point them to Worm for comparison.

Does the Abyss outside of Mt. Doom even have winds, jet streams, or other phenomenon?

Is the Oostermorthian exactitude when speaking discarded because they are in Abyss and nervous? Otherwise they know it has desert-like weather: dry, hot, arid. Maybe not dusty since thay hasn’t been mentioned. This just happens to be the only cool (relatively) weather.

You know, I’m not sure to be glad or sad that the alliteration from book 1 hasn’t been repeated again.

D’Orcs admitted the Mt. Doom worked w/ necromancers.

“Not always; the Drow and most of the Dok Sidhe have been good allies of the orcs,” Vargg noted.

“Not all of our allies have been completely reliable. Many of the so-called ‘dark races’ are a bit unhinged,” Darg-Krallnom noted to Tom on the side.

“I will never work with necromancers again,” Roth stated firmly. “Bad news.”

Maybe he could voice why he refuses to believe Exador the Arch-Vicar General is Exador the demon?

When Vaselle and Damien meet Treg & Stevos we have this line: Vaselle noted that as he had stood Damien had twisted his hands and moved his mouth ever so slightly to invoke his wizard sight.

Why did Damien invoke his wizard sight and did he see anything out of the ordinary? Since Stevos is there you would expect something. In fact there is NO follow-up to this line. Did you edit something out and forget to remove this line too?

Tiernon’s choice is about Orcus. How Tiernon deals with Sentir Fallon will be part of his choice on how to handle Orcus. He *could* just hand Sentir over.

    Vampyr:

Vampyrs are an alternate strain of vampire. [s]This alternate strain of vampire[/s] This strain is typically seen as being less efficient at consuming animus. Vampyrs typically (increasing with age) have very large mouths with extremely powerful jaws. Their mouths are filled with hundreds of flexible, but sharp teeth, similar to a shark.

Vampyrs do not have the sophisticated fangs of vampires and dhampyrs, and simply swallow blood and flesh and process it in their belly. Many have compared vampires and vampyrs to ghasts and ghouls. Vampyrs tend to be much more consumed by their hunger than vampires; they certainly have less impulse control and eating habits that make even ghouls queasy.

In theory, old vampyrs develop additional skills similar to vampires. Such vampyrs are less common than vampires simply due to the fact that vampyrs, unable to truly control their hunger and disguise their nature for long, are often located and put down before achieving advanced age.

In all other respects, vampires and vampyrs are essentially the same in terms of abilities and vulnerabilities.

    Phantom:

A phantom is a ghost with the ability to appear visually on the material plane. While not physically present, a powerful phantom can appear completely normal and solid, they are insubstantial and unable to interact physically with the material plane.
So, does that fact they can be seen mean it is a psychic projection? They don’t reflect light or block some light? Otherwise they can physically interact if they can be seen.

    Mummy:

Mummies are bandaged wrapped, embalmed corpses that are created by necromancers. They are most typically use as guards. The process of making a mummy is believed to be similar to that of creating a lich, however, liches create themselves, mummies are created by liches and necromancers, often against the will of the deceased. As with a lich, a mummy’s animus is stored within it’s phylactery. If the mummy’s body is destroyed, eventually, given enough time, it will reassemble itself. This can, however, take a very long time. One must destroy the phylactery in order to end the curse that binds the deceased to the mortal realm.

Mummies are Unlife, but are not typically contagious—although they may have a number of parasites and other illnesses associated with them. Mummies have no issue with daylight, nor do they typically consume animus.
Unlife is unlife because it is an antimus being and must have animus to continue functioning and to maintain the binding of the animus to the body, right? How are zombies not consuming animus and still functioning? It is supplied to them? Similar w/ Liches. I get that Draugar and Revenants are not unlife because they contain no antimus, but from what was established in-story an animus body with antimus in it must be supplied with animus.
Zombie:

A zombie is, most commonly, someone who has been brought back by the dead improperly (depending on one’s perspective). From a clerical perspective, a zombie is a failed resurrection where the returning animus becomes accidentally polarized as antimus and thus imperfectly binds to the body.

Zombies typically have relatively low intelligence, however there can be exceptions, particularly for fresh or powerful zombies. Truly powerful, well fed, well maintained, zombies can be as intelligent as they were in life. The problem is simply that of brain decay; it muddles one’s thinking and other cognitive functions.

Zombies are usually Unlife and they are thus contagious. The distinction is similar to ghosts. What appears to be a zombie could simply be an animated body, via a puppet master, or even a powerful ghost. In these cases, the zombie is not Unlife and is not contagious.

Zombies will eat any part of a mortal to consume animus, just like a ghoul. However, as has been widely reported, they particularly like brains. Brain tissue is a critical part of a zombie diet in order to keep cognitive thinking working properly. The more brains a zombie eats, the smarter they are.
If ghosts and other animus-based beings that have no brain can think, then why do zombies need brains to think? Magic?

Eh, didn’t you establish that under the current control scheme the doomalogues do not power Mt Doom?

    Yep.

Chapter 126 – Mount Doom: DOA + 5, Earlier Third Period (Shortly before previous scene)

“Tom had purposefully chosen to keep Talarius in the dark about Nysegard. He was sure the knight would want to go along, and could probably be quite useful; however, Tom was not going to risk the knight returning to the Planes of Man and contacting Tiernon. One mission at a time was his current motto.”

I was just imagining the D’Orcs introduction to Oorstemoth. A nation ruled by lawyers. A D’Orc’s worst nightmare. Taking down Oorstemoth would be a service / holy crusade.

    Divinity’s March

Edit: and we’re not saying which one is the divinity that’s marching. Tiernon or Orcus?

Jus some bored wikipedia reading, but…
    – Horkos = son of Eris. Horkos punished broken oaths and perjury.
    – Orcus = does the same and has a similar name.
    – Eris, step mother to the Five Siblings

    So… Orcus is a half brother to Tiernon and a step-nephew to Hephaestus? #-o ](*,) ](*,)
