I’m familiar with the phrase “bite your tongue” so I took it figuratively.

Well, if Tom didn’t have constructive magics before he might have them now that has absorbed godly mana. Perhaps it will have side-effects?

“How do you keep the wood from drying out?”  Tom suddenly asked.  “I’d think this place would literally be ‘Hell’ on it.

Tom has always been careful to keep his ignorance secret. Now, later in the book Tom thinks about how he is flubbing this all-knowing, experience demon shtick, but this early it was inconsistent with Book 1 and how he and others would react when such statements are made.

Perhaps an insert of Tm realizing his mistake and a side glance from Anteflaken à la Book 1?

“Ok, I’ve seen it.”  The knight gestured around.  “It’s a lovely place.  Can I go now?” “Hah hah.” Antefalken said.  “You aren’t getting off that easy.  It’s a big plane with lots of places to go and you haven’t seen anything yet.  Wait until you see the salt mines!”

That Hah hah from Antefalken. Is that laughter or a sarcastic saying of Hah hah? Wasn’t clear.

Some additional things:

8. Verigas’s punishment. Think about it, he was possessed at the end and then Tom returned to full power with various members of the Rod under his control. I wonder how the Rod will treat Verigas now.

9. Will we learn what the stolen book is about? I suspect the book allows one to gain the power Concordenax or of gods, but it would be nice to find out.

10. Will we see more of the mirror used by Talarius to rate demon strength and will it be used on the Avatar’s (deliberate or accident)? What will it show? Basically I want to see a theological upset in Astlan.

11. What is going on with Johen-Maelen-Elrose-Trisfelt conspiracy & the visions they’ve had? There is something going on, but so little information.

Regarding #2 – I say “rehabilitation” but really, what will Tom do with Talarius? Sell him, lecture him, brainwash him? Will Tom let him go just to see how people treat Talarius after he returns from damnation? Perhaps such corruption can never be cleansed!

Regarding #4 – How will Jenn and Maelen react if they learn Edwyrd is Tom as I suspect will happen?

Okay, so, …

I’m re-re-re-re-reading this book again (WTF makes it so addictive?) and I’m picking up on new details here and there which lead to me speculate on certain things. What are your opinions on these theories? Anyone have others to share?

– Tom’s demon weed came from a guy who smoked an old-fashioned pipe. Was it Tizzy in disguise?
– Do Rupert and Tom have the same father?
– Tizzy only pretends to be crazy. Maybe he is Concordenax is disguise or one of his chief agents.
– The book everyone is after contains all of the true names of demons (princes & archdemon’s too). This book is why Concordenax was able to be #1. Perhaps he created / bound the earliest & most powerful demons or was just really, really good at getting information.

Also, this next is a a silly WAG. I don’t really think this, but hey – why not?
– Tom is a pre-Concordenax being who goes back in time, grabs a whole lot of divine mana, become Concordanax, recruits Tizzy, and instructs Tizzy to ensure events come to pass, i.e., make Tom a demon.

Rosver, you are coming across to me as quite angry and responding without taking the time to think things through. I have a hypothesis with musings & evidence and a conclusion that I can present, but it is rather long so if you promise to take a moment to write down your response, shelve it, come back after a few hours and re-read & edit before responding, will you do so?

Odd, I’ve seen it on an iPad w/ the Kindle app and the tables are ~1/3 to 1/2 the width of the screen when vertical.

Bit of a necro so sorry, but I thought you might like this blurb for the book:

“Tom, a young man of sixteen years, finds his soul kidnapped and turned into a demon to fuel a wizard’s ambition. Thrust upon him is a lifetime of servitude to his accursed master as a machine of violence. In a world that hates his kind he struggles to find meaning in his life and to deal with the essence of what is means to be evil.”

However, it doesn’t fit the cover… a blurb should always reinforce the messaging of the cover. Still, feel free to rework & use it if you like it.
