FYI: Beta 0 is listed under Alpha 3 and Alpha 3 is listed under Beta 0. Also, a missing > in the HTML.
IumeMemberAlso, so as not to delay Beta 1 and to keep of my comments in the same version I’ll not post anything until Beta 1 is released.
IumeMemberThis is one of the things that is now bothering me for Apostles of Doom. Basically you have all of these different fights happening at roughly the same time. What sort of conflicts are happening before the end of the book? I hope Beta 1 and the ending won’t just be an easy but dramatic cakewalk in hindsight.
IumeMember
So in the beginning of alpha 3 Talarius gets the “drinking with, 2 gods” shock and a kinda memory dump.
He called them heathens and “he was fighting along side a pagan deity.”
So my thing is, Talarius is a follower of Tiernon who is “a god of the five siblings.” Isn’t that technically a pagan god?
Nah, that’s not paganism. Paganism isn’t multiple gods (that’s polytheism). Paganism is worshiping gods that are not yours or are considered false gods by your religion.
IumeMemberActually because they are all about Light I’ve been imagining sunny days. Mt. Nysegard Doom may be raining, but the villages? Nah.
IumeMemberWas this resolved? I still see some mention of orcs using peace. Is it appropriate in this situations like Peace of Doom?

Everyone was dressed in full battle regalia; however, they were also flying their peace banner along with their clan banner. They did not want to accidentally put an ally on a war footing; yet they also wanted to ensure respect for their mission and for Lord Tommus.
As they came within sight of the Rock Smasher camp, or rather, the camp’s sight of them, Tal Gor could see multiple clan members scrambling to gear up. He gestured to his sister, Soon Tal, to wave the peace banner clearly.

“By the honor of the Crooked Sticks, do you swear that this visit shall be peaceful?”
Lob Smasher nodded and gave her a sincere smile of confidence. “On my family’s honor I and we, so swear it.” He bowed his head in acknowledgement as did Soo Van.

“We no attack. We do our lives. Alvar attack our people. No provoke. Our land, our peaceful land. Alvar violent attack innocent travelers.” Elgrida said. “Deserve death.”
IumeMemberIt seem this was never addressed. We still don’t know why the Abyss D’Orcs believed there were no more D’Orc shamans when those on the Isle of Doom were still active and had on occasion traveled back to the Abyss only to be re-summoned. Also never explained or hinted at why the Nysegard shamans couldn’t summon other D’Orcs from the Abyss to help swell their numbers in the fights against the unlife.
IumeMemberAh, I see it. You mention that they got volunteers, but it still contradicts book 2.
In book 2 Zelda bemoans about the fact that they’ve had no way to access the material planes. Yet not once they did they try to get the word to other planes via Nysegard or use the Nysegard shamans and D’Orcs shamans on Nysegard?
She also says that 2000 years ago the last D’Orc shaman was lost to attrition and despair. Even with the D’Orc forces staying in the Abyss I’m surprised they didn’t try to maintain connections to the various planes. It was implied that in book 2 no shaman on the material planes had the summoning name of a D’Orc and so communication was simply impossible.
If they knew of Nysegard and even loaned people out then why were they unable to connect to the material planes?
IumeMemberStill says universe when meaning multiverse.

The major-domo demon shrugged. “Denubian CraftmanshipTM is well known, they are some of the best builders and engineers in the universe. If they can DenubaformTM an entire planet in 7 days, what’s a little fortress in the Abyss?”
IumeMemberWhen you think about Ruiden is 4000 years old. He’s seen some stuff assuming he wasn’t locked away in an armory or stuck in cave/dungeon if his wielder fell in battle.
I’ve read another book about an intelligent sword that was pretty good. Be interesting to have that, maybe his meeting of Talarius or the wielder just before?
IumeMemberBut the folks not on Etterdam still had links to Orcus. It didn’t follow to them because the shield cut off EM just as it cutoff Orcus?
IumeMemberTrying to do some planning on my end, but when do you plan to have the end scene. Not necessarily the last scene to write, but the ending scene. I plan to a final re-read from bk1, bk2, and then bk3.
IumeMemberAll this new content in the Citadel has the various people that came through the portal from Astlan pop up here and there. But not Isekrus. He’s pretty high up in he church hierarchy and despite his recent inquisition it seems he is still able to draw mana and cast spells, make prayers, etc. But he vanished and hasn’t been involved in the planning or operations.
IumeMemberYep, that’s the Chapter 143 scene.
I was just pointing out that with everything happening in-between the two scenes I had been wondering for some time if the Inferno had been forgotten. That made my realize it had been too long since we last saw them.
IumeMemberThe wizard Tisdale was a thousand years ago wasn’t it?
