Hi TAG,
Just wondering how ITW is coming along.
Haven’t seen any activity on the forum the last few weeks and I just want to stop bye and let you know that while I may not log on often, I am still very much looking forward to your next book.

I have read a number of the books that have been recommended here. I’m going to put some of the ones I haven’t read on my to-read list (which is about 250 books long right now) and see if I can get to them sometime before 2050.

Here are a few books that I have enjoyed:
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson
Nightlord Series by Garon Whited (I liked books 2 and 3 better than 1. Haven’t read 4 yet)

Inter-galactic monkey hive-mind? hmmm….
I had assumed that he had some kind of extra-dimensional communication/travel going on given his writing. I would never have figured out the monkey thing.

BTW, you might be seeing the MC from Nightlord sometime soon. He is currently on vacation but I have it on good authority that he is planning some serious inter-dimensional exploration in the near future.
Also, he is planning to specifically search for Mt Doom as he has an evil artifact that he wants to toss in.
I need to find that ball and have not one word of discussion with it.  I wonder if I can shove it through a gate out in space, aimed at a star big enough to collapse into a singularity?  Either the solar fires will destroy it or the gravitational collapse will.  Short of that, anybody know where I can find Mount Doom?

Yes.  I’m tired of politics, adventure, emotional trauma, and all the rest.  I want to get the damned ball, lock it away somewhere, and let Diogenes probe alternate universes until he finds Mount Doom.  I want this crap over.

This is this vampire guy?
Yeah. Although, I think he probably has more in common with a dhampir.

Eesh. What’s the ball? Sounds a lot like a certain book?
The ball is a bowling ball sized prison for a really really nasty non-corporeal monster. The monster is pretty close to indestructible and the ball is even more so. The problem is, the monster is really powerful and the ball is not quite 100% perfect. Long story short, the monster managed to reach a really weak version of his arm out through the bars, grabbed some curious-gorge type by the brain and drove off with him.

Maybe a safety deposit box in Tartarus? That would be just the thing.
It’s one of those who knows what questions.

Here Jen (and by assumption, everyone else on the Nimbus) hasn’t made the Lanamare’s big demon, Tom = New Orcus connection.
“Moved?” Jenn asked. She paused and her eyes widened. “You are not saying they moved to Mount Doom with Orcus?”
“Uhm, not so much with Orcus as, well—Tom, or Lord Tommus, as they call him. He’s also the one who recovered the Wand of Orcus and then relit Mount Doom with the mana he stole from Tiernon. He’s the one leading the D’Orcs; it was Tom who opened the portals for them.”
Jenn simply stared at him, blinking every now and then. “You are telling me that the instigator of all the insanity that has propelled us halfway across the continent and set the alvar on the warpath is Lenamare’s greater demon?” she finally asked in disbelief.
Here, Gastrope makes the Orcus=Tom connection in public conversation on the Nimbus and everyone acts like they already knew this. Yet, there was no point where the rest of the nimbus team was brought up to date on this.
“Yes. He is in charge of punishing those who break their word,” Trevin said.
“You mean like Talarius, who broke his oath and allowed the Rod to assist him in single combat?” Gastropé asked. “Who he then dragged down to the actual underworld, the Abyss?”
Trevin stared at him in shock, as did the others. No one said anything for a moment.
“How did I miss that?” Trevin shook her head slowly from side to side. “I have been so blind.”
“That certainly makes the most sense of anything we’ve heard,” Elrose said.
Gastrope knowing the Tom=New Orcus connection could come to the above conclusion with no problem while Trevin, being ignorant of that key piece of data, couldn’t.
However, could that be reasonably confused with the Concordenax in people’s minds?

It is not confusing in my mind, but since people’s understanding of the Concordenax (and I mean readers, mortals, gods and demons by people) is rather iffy/uncertain. Could readers think I mean The Demon All-Father that some have referred to the Concordenax as?.
As a reader, I don’t personally feel that there is a lot of potential confusion but maybe that’s just me. When I think ‘Concordenax’ I see Tizzy.
The place where I might see some confusion is if you read that title (The Demon God) before reading bk3. However, I cant see why that would be worth worrying about since it is true of many series-titles.

I would love to see a different pov on the meteor-baseball thing.

Maybe have one heading for Sir Stainsberry (Storm lords made a note of needing to get rid of him).
Sir Stainsberry(SS) sees meteor heading straight at him and tries to dodge
SS realizes he won’t make it
D’Orc flies in and bats it away at the last second (Darg-Kralnom getting back in the game before all the meteors are gone maybe?)
SS goes “Whewwww” and mops sweat off forehead
SS realizes that his fresh undies are stuck in his bag of safekeeping off-plane where he cant get to them.

So, I have been think about the measurements and I don’t think that the Bergrisi would fit through the 50 ft wide toomb-gate. Unless he is a real bean-pole.
The sarcophagus was nearly thirty-five feet wide
If this is one of the little guys then the box for the bergrisi would be about 70 ft wide right? (since he is twice the size) That assumes that he isn’t a lot stockier than the others (mountain/earth giant, makes sense that he might be wider/heavier).
My original estimate of 35′ for the little guys’ sarcophagi of 35′ would be correct, but the bergrisi would need to be more like 65′ or 70′ across.
That is if he is a scaled up version of a medium size human right? What if he were a little on the stockier side? Like this:

Then he would be even bigger.

I think that Blade of Demon Slaying would be better.
When I read this chunk, it felt a bit off that the Oorstemoothians would know this.
For the version of the ritual they had come up with, the anointed one, Karth, needed to be on a different plane from the one to which he was summoned, it could not be the Abyss because that was the third plane in the so called Dimensional Triad.
Thus Karth, along with the D’Orc shaman Kroth-bitor, Karth’s wife Eldebra, two other orc shamans, Nod Rock Bender and Luga Strength Sapper and Arg-nargoloth had all gone to Ragala-nargoloth’s campsite. They had contacted her yesterday and she had taken her party slightly off course to a nearby henge, which being on a ley line intersection would be helpful in the ascension.
Etterdam (Ragala-Nargoloth’s planet) is another planet in the Astlan, Nysegard, Etterdam etc universe. Thus not an actual third plane of reality, the ‘Dimensional Triad’ is missing a leg.

The second lacuna takes place during the battle, the interdiction is still up.
So, where is Tizzy pulling his stuff from?
I had figured he was somehow pulling it from some kind of inter-dimensional hidey-hole.

*)Melissance stared at him in stunned surprise for several long moments before finally throwing her hair back,

Just try to hold an expression of stunned surprise on your face for several minutes…..
Yeah, not as easy as it sounds. You start going cross-eyed after about forty seconds or so.
