That’s better…

Does Jenn know that Tom is a Demon Prince at this stage??? I’m trying to read back through – but haven’t been able to find the timing of that revelation yet.

EDIT: Just re-read the relevant sections in Chapter 140. Jenn knows that Tom is more powerful then a Greater Demon and that the D’Orcs now call him Lord Tommus. Also that he has taken over Mount Doom and had a battle with Lilith….but she doesn’t seem to have made the connection that Tom is now a Demon Prince….you might need to tweek some of the conversation between Jenn and Gastrope to highlight the change of status of Tom in Jenn’s mind in the “Astlan, Stone Finger Camp: Mid-Fifth Period” scene.

Tizzy could have a bag of holding, that could explain how he would be able to carry such a large amount of Demon Weed – I know that you had mentioned them in the chapters that get cut from the Beta of bk2

Maybe he got it from his previous AM that he killed in bk1
Yes, do you know what I am saying? describing? It’s a vaccuum mug with a straw that has a flap that release with a trigger button on the handle.
Looking for suggestions–although may by explanation here is what I should use?
Maybe describe it as something like Tom has seen before like a Thermos with a straw – like this
Blue Foogo® Vacuum Insulated Straw Bottle

Phases™ drinkware features interchangeable parts that fit all Phases cups
Phase 3 for children ages 18m+
Thermos™ double wall vacuum insulation for maximum cold temperature retention
Hygienic push button lid with pop-up silicone straw is easy to open
Kid-proof design – durable stainless steel interior and exterior
Contoured body is easy to grip
Sweat-proof won’t leave water rings
Dishwasher safe
and then have him ask how they prevent the liquid CO2 from escaping…Phaetus could then explain how he “borrowed” the idea from a High Tech earth where they make 1 way value straws for children’s cups to prevent spills

Tizzy did say it front of her in Chapter 63 of bk1
“Demon,” Jenn warned, “don’t try my patience. What can’t you tell?”
“Nothing, forget it. I can’t tell.”
“Tizzy.” This time Maelen was looking the demon straight in the eyes. “If you know something that will affect the boy, you’d better tell us.”
“Can’t. They wouldn’t like me telling you.”
“Who wouldn’t like you telling us?” Gastropé asked.
“Edwyrd and Rupert.” Tizzy hopped in a circle around them.
“Are you telling me you know what’s so similar about their auras?” Maelen demanded. Tizzy just smiled and nodded.
“Then tell us!” Jenn shouted.
“Nope. Shouldn’t have said anything. Sorry, forget it.” The demon kept prancing.
“Demon,” Gastropé said in his most persuasive voice. “If you want us to keep liking you, you’ll tell us.”
That stopped Tizzy in his tracks. He looked quizzically at Gastropé. “You telling me you like me?”
“Yes he is, Tizzy,” Maelen said, picking up on Gastropé’s idea. “We do. You’re really one of the nicest demons we’ve ever met. You’re good company, fun to be with.”
“Really?” Tizzy asked, trying to decide if they were teasing him.
“Certainly.” Gastropé said. “Further, if it hadn’t been for you flying all the way here, we’d have never escaped from the Rod. You’ve really helped us. So why wouldn’t we like you?”
Jenn was staring back and forth between the two men as if she thought they’d both completely gone off a mental cliff together.
Tizzy smiled and looked down at the ground. “Well, that is true. I didn’t have to do that.”
“No, you didn’t, and we really appreciate your doing so,” Maelen said.
“Would you say you’re my friends?” Tizzy asked.
“We’d like to be,” Gastropé said carefully, “but friends don’t keep important secrets from each other. Especially if not telling those secrets could hurt other friends.”
Tizzy shrugged slightly. “I’ve never had no friends except Boggy and Tom, and Antefalken—oh and Rupert, of course.”
“We’d like to think of you as our friends,” Maelen said very seriously.
“Well,” Tizzy admitted, “I suppose I could tell you the big thing.”
“Please Tizzy, it’s very important,” Gastropé said.
“Well, okay then!” Tizzy said brightly, “but if you’re my friends and I do this for you, you’ve got to promise to help me someday if I need it!”
“Certainly,” Gastropé assured the demon. “You have my word on it.”
“Mine too,” Maelen said. Tizzy looked at Jenn, twisting his head to see what her answer would be. Maelen nudged her in the back.
“Ugghhh. You people. If that’s how it’s got to be… then you have mine as well, demon,” she finally said.
“Good!” Tizzy shouted, dancing again. “Edwyrd…” Tizzy drawled.
“Yes?” Gastropé urged.
“Is Rupert’s father!” Tizzy announced loudly.
“What!” Jenn screeched. “All that nonsense for this garbage! How do you expect us to believe that! Edwyrd is Rupert’s cousin. There is no way Edwyrd could be old enough to be Rupert’s father. You’re crazy, demon!”
?)While Edwyrd was surprisingly skilled, he did have Rupert’s trust, but like Gastropé he was young and inexperienced.
*)Seems off
Agreed….in bk1, Jenn was part of the group conversation where Tizzy told the group that Rupert was Tom’s son (this was after traversing the Abyss to Freehold, when Tom had to go looking for Rupert in the Abyss) …..and Maelen agreed that Tom could be a lot older then he appears to be…..

Quick question – do Denubian Demons have genders???? or at least as we know it??

In Chapter 139 (Alpha 2)
Section: Courts of Chaos: Late Fourth Period

Asmodeus grimaced. “Odd sort of thing, rather explains the man’s squeamishness in turning her over but Melissance is Hesseforthalus’ wife.”

Just wondering if Asmodeus would actually refer to the Denubian Hesseforthalus as a man?

We do have the “Crossing” signs for most of the common animals – kangaroos, koalas, wombats, emus, etc..

You don’t see too many in the cities or suburbs…mostly driving between towns..

the problem with the ‘roos is that they travel in ‘mobs’ at dusk (anything from 5 to hundreds) ….they come bounding out of the bush at the side of the road, and bound across the road in one or two hops, you don’t see them until they appear…..also they get spooked by car lights and will actually turn into the source of the light and jump that way….eg. straight into your car

a good sized ‘roo will take out the front of your car with no problems if you hit it

‘Roos are probably more like the Alpine mountain goats in intelligence – can’t compare them to domesticated animals..

A big male Red Kangaroo or Eastern Grey can kill a person – they can be aggressive….they stand up, grab onto you with their front paws, lean back onto their tale and kick you in the stomach with they hind legs and claws – trying to disembowel you …and they are full of muscle…imagine something like this that is 6ft tall attacking you

As for the Koalas – they may look cuddly, but they are pure muscle….ranging from 9lbs – 29 lbs, they have 2 thumbs and 3 fingers on each paw, with very sharp claws for climbing and teeth a bit like a beaver (I think – never seen a beaver) …..in the bush at night you can sometimes hear the males fighting for territory, they scream at each other, which is often mistaken for Yowie calls (Australia’s equivalent to Big Foot)

And they reek – very strong eucalyptus and musk smell

[-x First Rule of Australia – never approach an animal in the wild – most of them will either kill you or seriously ruin your day[-x

I think we loose 20 or 30 people a year (mostly tourists) to some form of animal attack

If you come to Australia and want to pet one of the native animals – go to one of the zoos or wild life parks, the animals there have mostly be hand raised and you will know which ones are safe to touch….the parks actually do a good trade with the ‘have a picture taken cuddling a Koala” thing..

The difference with the disemboweling thing is that most animals that do it are carnivores and will eat the prey – ‘Roos are herbivores so it’s a they do it just to remove the threat not to eat

It’s very rare that a roo or koala will be spotted in one of the cities or suburbs – you mostly see them in the outter suburbs (where there is acreage – 5 acre properties or above) or between towns

Most people leave them be…may stand at a distance and take some photos if the animals are doing something interesting, but that’s about it….the animals will move on eventually – most of the animals will only attack if they feel threatened, and we don’t have a lot of large predator animals here that will attack without warning – mostly just the sharks, crocodiles in the northern part of the country, and the Tiger snakes (these are aggressive and will chase you – but the population of these is mostly in remote areas in South Australia)

The only time someone may call the Wildlife rescue is if the animal is in distress, injured or in threat of injury

Most Australian’s have the look but don’t touch or approach mentality when it comes to animals – it’s hammered into us from a small age at school

Most of the wildlife that we actually see in the cities are either snakes (a lot that are venomous – you call a snake catcher out for them if their in the house), spiders (again many are venomous – kill on sight), possums or birds like Cockatoos and Galahs

Of course, to me, getting dragged in Australia brings to mind a touring bus with a bunch of men with fabulous wardrobes wandering the Outback. Preferably sitting on top of the bus with a very long silver trane…
Don’t you know that is all the fashion now in the Outback..

Just like we have designated roads in the major cities for the ‘Roos to use, and Drop Bears and Yowies lay in wait at the local billabongs for unwary travellers, unless they are out past the Black Stump, then you have to worry about the packs of Tassie Tigers….

Small thing – description of Gaius & Gadius armor in Chapter 124

In this chapter you describe the armor as:

Gauis – black ivory chainmail

Gadius – ivory chainmail

This is different from the descriptions in bk2.

Gadius = iridescent chain mail
Sir Gadius and Peace Bringer solidified on the shore of the small island along the coast of Norelon, en route to Keeper’s City. Gadius pulled his helmet off, placing it under one arm as he moved to a large rock to rest. His iridescent chain mail rattled under his surcoat as he sat. Peace Bringer wandered over to a patch of tasty-looking grass and began munching.
Gaius – obsidian chain mail & black leather
“However do they keep these smoothly paved streets so clean?” Gaius asked Gadius, gesturing at the boulevard of clean white stone pavement, curbs and planters. His obsidian chain mail and black leather gauntlets made a sharp contrast to the white stone as his arm swept out.

Two knights of near identical height and weight, one with alabaster skin and fair hair dressed in shimmering white mail and a white tabard trimmed in silver, the other with a deep midnight complexion and tightly cut, military style black curly hair, dressed in obsidian black chain mail with a black tabard trimmed in gold. Both tabards were emblazoned with the Rod’s symbol, as were their great cloaks.
