Argh, Orcus’ anus.

Sounds like it’s not going to be easier.

Cool. Hope you’re getting lots of writing in with everything shut down. Even GRRM is saying he’s making progress because of this.

Oh gosh. This really reflects the poor ability of the US currently to detect and test for this disease. Did you or your friend ever try getting tested at one point or another?

Stay safe, monitor your fever and breathing. If you get difficulty at any point, you should head to the ICU asap. We have stories of patients dropping dead in their homes because they thought they were going to ride it out in isolation, and then testing positive post-mortem.

Be careful. Wash your hands, wear a mask.

Things are getting serious. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ICUs in the states get overwhelmed in the way it happened in Italy. Unlike the flu, a lot of people will need ventilators and intubation. With this, the mortality rate is low. If ICUs get overwhelmed, the mortality rate skyrockets.
A lot of my colleagues involved with infectious diseases are worried about this.

Be careful, I wouldn’t want one of my favorite authors to die. Especially before he finishes writing his books. 🙂
That’s a good question.
Of course then, the other question is, why are the Nyjyr Ennead hanging out on that crappy moon?
Maybe they like cheese..? I like cheese. Makes my fridge smell like rotten baby’s feet though! The very best!
Not so much. I mean, it is possible that some demon could reanimate/possess a corpse, there are “Undead” that are not “Unlife” that are spirits that reanimate corpses, but as rule, it’s easier to possess a living creature.

Ravens and crows are very easy to possess. You can’t imagine the fun we–ahem–some people–had “faking omens” from Odin! Boy that used to tick him off!

    I miss Loki, so much.

As becomes very clear to the Storm Lords on their trip through the Abyssal Switch, the Abyss is not at all friendly to Unlife as it is completely neutral. It is the fastest way to cure a ghoul, it makes zombies very very sick, they literally puke up their guts. Assuming they still had any.
If that’s the case, why doesn’t Orky boi go start an abyssal switch next time he sees a concentration of unlife armies. Then leave them stranded in the middle of the Abyss. Or better yet, in the middle of Lilith’s court!

Not sure if I opted into beta already, but I’m too lazy to check the previous pages. Opting for all 3 betas.

So beta for all 3 books are coming in the next 2 weeks? That’s unexpected.
There are definitely both western and eastern dragons flying around on various planes, and then there are the d’ragons (which presumably could be either western or eastern or….)
Hey TAG, I believe I wrote something about Far eastern mythology and theology awhile back about Shangdi in reply to Tizzy.

Like most chinese deities and mythology, much of the modern depiction of them is quite contrary to historical portrayals since the May movements and cultural revolutions.

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but just in case since both easterners and westerners are often misguided about what is historical mythology and worship versus modern fantasies.
But dragons are not mythical creatures equivalents of Western dragons in Chinese mythologies.
In Chinese lore, they are usually divine. Gods that are capable of conjuring up the apocalypse.

And unlike modern fantasy depiction where they are found everywhere* akin to Western dragons, there are only a handful of them much like in a pantheon. e.g: The four Dragon Kings with their own courts. (But they don’t always get along. There are quite a few feuds between the gods – unsurprisingly)

*:Although technically, the Kings are everywhere in terms of administration and jurisdiction of elemental territories. With minor non-deities hanging around.

They’re not really something you take a ride on as depicted in most modern fantasy portrayals.

As to their relation with Shangdi, that’s not that clear. It’s very situational. Although Shangdi is definitely the most powerful deity.

edit: Now that I think about it. Since you know Singkun, you most know about one of the Four Kings. Naughty fella. You know what reportedly said to have possibly happened between those two. Hah!

Also, I’m not that clear on Norse mythology, but I think the World Serpent Jörmungandr or Níðhöggr? would be similar-ish? Not sure about the extent of his powers.
Well, not sure how familiar you are with swords, I’m not a fan of them, I prefer claws myself…however, last time I checked, swords, or at least the one’s I’ve met, don’t have any “equipment” that can be used for reproduction.

Just saying, have you ever seen a sword with a forge hanging from its hilt? Or an anvil? Or hammer/mallet. What about a bucket of water? Does that mean there are four genders of swords?
True, but I haven’t seen any swords that turns into a humanoid form either. One of those crevices or sharpy things might be its phallus or receptacle. And who knows how a sword has sex? Who’s going to be the scabbard, and who’s going to be inserting? Is sword sex violent in nature? Very rough? Plenty of unanswered questions. You should ask Volund if Ruiden is the only one of his kind.

If not, I’m pretty sure Volund could help with that if you provide him enough cookies, Tizzy! You’d probably have to stay up all night though…

This brings me to another point… Did Volund just not create a sentient being out of scrap? Isn’t that the job of a god? Hm…. why doesn’t Bess just start blackmailing others into making new worshippers/souls in a secret plane?

This conversation gave me a thought.

How do we know that Ruiden is not a “she”. I mean, Ruiden is a sword, isn’t it?

If Talarius gets turned into a sword eventually, Ruiden would be a perfect partner. Very dedicated fellow.

I’d like to meet a D’Dwarf. Must be strange being not so small anymore after the D’dwarving. Do their beards become autonomous weapons after the descension?

T-A-G has always been interested in doing stories on the Mogradin Association.

They will start to play a bigger role in DOA as well as battle lines get drawn and we get down to slaughtering elves, which is really a favorite pastime of the D’Orcs.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go quite as well as we expected last time….eeeshh….

Dwarves are, after all, jotnar related, somewhat distantly, one group is tall and stocky, the other short and stocky, but they tend to get along better with humans and elves etc than most of the jotnar.

And of course, by somewhat better, I mean that they get along reasonably well with humans and heartheans, and don’t automatically try to kill every elf on sight. Orcs on the other hand, well, for them, there are only two things worse than an elf. An elven lawyer and an elven diplomat.

Phaestus forbid they encounter an elven diplomat with a law degree…
Seems the dwarf gods don’t have clear sets of rules, don’t you think? Ptah and other Dwarven gods have a bit of splaining to do for why the rules change in different verses. They’ll split open some orcs in some localverse, spitroast some elves in another, or even put ransoms on the heads of humans. At least they’re consistent with the rules within the localverse, but… seems a bit Schizophrenic, don’t you think?

I also wonder if Sekhmet and Phaestus’ 2 kids will pop up anytime in DoA?
