Also, thanks Tizzy for the hints on how to hide spoilers.
That would make his relationship with his demon slaying sword kind of awkward right? It would be great!!!
Well, humans also tend to wield human slaying swords.

But at least it’s so much cheaper to run a server yourself, than to generate the site statically, and run the forums on a SaaS? Right?

Member
Hmm,
Well the deal T-A-G worked out for the current site is that the server is paying for itself. He’s got other clients on it, on VMs that cover the costs.
So net net, he makes money and the site rides for free…
That’s merely an excuse to not learn proper big boy Linux system administration.

It’s amusing, action-packed, with enjoyable characters, and an interesting world.
Like brotha wolves?

One month ago you made yourself a promise: you were going to turn your life around. You were going to get a real job, stay out of jail, and not get into any more trouble with cults. Nobody thought you could do it; they said your questionable reputation, lack of any useful skills, and flagrant alcoholism would always hold you down. But you had a plan.
You were going to start over, far from home. You pawned off your belongings, withdrew the rest of your inheritance, and narrowly managed to buy your way onto a merchant ship bound for Cyrodiil.
And now you have arrived, alone and penniless in a foreign country. Rounding up to the nearest week, you’ve been sober for an entire seven days. This is your chance to be whatever you want to be. Whoever you want to be.
You think you’ll start with a new name. Something less ethnic, maybe suitably Imperial, to fit in in your new home.

MemberIs the factor limiting speed in vacuum going to be mass?
Perhaps in your universe, antimatter mass has a *minimum* speed, while mass has a maximum speed?

I wonder if there is some game out there that has these cores? Perhaps that is what they are basing it on.

Magical Beasts (魔兽 móshòu) – animals capable of cultivation. Some are innately magical and simply grow stronger over time, while others must actively practice a cultivation method. They tend to be much more intelligent than mundane animals, and some are capable of speaking in human languages. Magical Beasts which have reached a high stage of cultivation may even be able to take on a human form. These Beasts often possess a Core (魔核 móhé) (妖核 yāohé) within their bodies which contains their essence and/or cultivation base. Cultivators highly prize these Cores and will hunt the Beasts to obtain them. The Cores are generally either consumed by a cultivator to increase their cultivation base or used in the production of magical items.
Some novels give the Beasts slightly varying names such as Demonic Beasts (妖兽 yāoshòu) or Spirit Beasts (灵兽 língshòu), but they’re all essentially the same sort of creature. The names of the Cores vary similarly.

The place is here, the time is now, and the journey into the ten-page $14 scam ebooks we are about to watch could be our journey.

MC gets seemingly overpowered in the first book, but the series seems to escalate well. Not sure exactly where it’s going in Book 4.
I very much enjoyed that series, and was bummed when the author went MIA.
Maybe the author kind of painted himself in the corner with the ending of the third book resolving most of the outstanding tension.

The only superhero-themed fiction I’ve come across that’s not complete dogshit.

MemberI’ve come across a couple of LitRPG writers who’s work isn’t boring and predictable:
* Justin Miller’s World Seed and The Dive series.
* Travis Bagwell’s Awaken Online.
We should have a separate discussion on the topic of what makes a good fantasy book.
