Is she supposed to be pregnant with an ooze monster because that is what that picture looks like.

No, she’s just carrying it. Apparently, oozes in that world don’t “ooze”. Ah, damn my reading addiction. I went ahead and bought it. It was entertaining, and an interesting take on things, but many of the plot points seemed a little forced to me.

Still, it was fun to read.

    More Jello than slime then?

As I understand it, the Ooze is her pet at first, and then maybe her lover?

That’s an odd relationship progression, but then humans dating oozes is not that common.

Lover? No, not in this book, anyway. You’d think it was uncommon…until you do a Gargle Search for something like “tentacle love”. Apparently it’s not that uncommon in certain areas of some planes.

The ooze was described as warm, dry jelly. It’s name is “Jelly”. Frankly, he seems far too human to me.

I read it. It started out pretty interestingly, since the main character couldn’t communicate, but then the jelly suddenly learns how to speak! Became kind of a standard coming of age story after that, with just an unusual MC. Book 2 looks to be a standard going to mage school type thing. Will there be romance in the future? God I hope not, as it will be completely derivative at that point.

I get tentacle porn, it’s pretty much the basis of love with Melissance and her hubby, but do Oozes have tentacles? Pseudopods, yes, of course.

A warm dry jelly? That seems rather odd.

Are pseudopods that amenable for the necessary hand gestures to cast spells?

Also, does it speak telepathically? Or exude vocal cords and pump air through them?

Staving dragonblessed is a good fantasy novel. The first book is on discount

Bummer, hate that when it happens, but perhaps it’s just part of the superior nature of slimes, oozes and gels, being a master race and all has its advantages, or so I would assume.

In terms of different character development, I think the Divine Dungeon does relatively well, yes, in book Cal, the dungeon, does go from unable to speak to fairly sophisticated in not a couple hundred pages, but lots of time is passing around him as it does. So their are lots of very explicit periods of weeks or months where he is very purposefully working on learning things and building himself out, learning how to make monsters etc.

I’ve got book 2, which just dropped into the Abyss, but haven’t got to read it yet. Busy running back and forth between Book 4 and CoA:ITA, it’s hard to be the most important character in two books simultaneously.

Just finished re-reading Legacy of the Twice Dead God. MC gets seemingly overpowered in the first book, but the series seems to escalate well. Not sure exactly where it’s going in Book 4.

I very much enjoyed that series, and was bummed when the author went MIA.

Maybe the author kind of painted himself in the corner with the ending of the third book resolving most of the outstanding tension.

Actually, he posted on his blog in January that he’s still writing the next book “Connections”. There were a lot of loose plot threads at the end of book 3. Hopefully the next book will tie some of them off. Really not sure where you can go after killing an elder god. Maybe the mall?

What is it about super-powered teenagers that make them remain virgins?

Or maybe he finally got a job….

T-A-G is very whiny about that sort of stuff. Really don’t get it. He complains about “living expenses” whatever those are.

It’s not like caves cost money. And eating and drinking are simply pleasures that one can do without.

About the only real expense is the AOL dialup fee to get on the Internet.

One month ago you made yourself a promise: you were going to turn your life around. You were going to get a real job, stay out of jail, and not get into any more trouble with cults. Nobody thought you could do it; they said your questionable reputation, lack of any useful skills, and flagrant alcoholism would always hold you down.

    But you had a plan.

You were going to start over, far from home. You pawned off your belongings, withdrew the rest of your inheritance, and narrowly managed to buy your way onto a merchant ship bound for Cyrodiil.

And now you have arrived, alone and penniless in a foreign country. Rounding up to the nearest week, you’ve been sober for an entire seven days. This is your chance to be whatever you want to be. Whoever you want to be.

You think you’ll start with a new name. Something less ethnic, maybe suitably Imperial, to fit in in your new home.

Love Prequel, but it’s been on hiatus for a bit now. Still very entertaining to read through.

On the Urban Fantasy front, I recommend The Black Wolves of Boston by Wen Spencer. It’s amusing, action-packed, with enjoyable characters, and an interesting world.
