MemberI’ve come across a couple of LitRPG writers who’s work isn’t boring and predictable:
* Justin Miller’s World Seed and The Dive series.
* Travis Bagwell’s Awaken Online.
We should have a separate discussion on the topic of what makes a good fantasy book.

It didn’t seem like the author was very good at writing female characters.
I enjoyed the novelty of reading the gayest book series I’ve ever seen, with zero sex scenes.
He even shortly described semi-realistic BDSM leather scene play in a very non-erotic manner.
The first Astlan book talked about Tom’s dong in more length than all the three Legacy/Gilan books taken together.

MemberAuthors are surprisingly terrible at web design.
Authors who publish their work on the web thus often seem to create additional barriers for their readers.
For my own reading enjoyment, I created a simple content cleaner and web novel reader.
https://github.com/mikaelhg/novel-reader-kotlin
It simply proxies content from light novel sites, cleans it, and presents it on a clean, readable page.

MemberT-A-G, why did you give Tom’s dick so much air time in the first book, if you were going to keep all the action off-camera from then on?
Speaking of which. I’ve been reading a bunch of Chinese fantasy xianxia web novels lately, thousands of pages altogether. They are all censored, given the hard-on the CCP has for anything that might sully the purity of their chosen Han people. However, since the translators for this stuff are mostly amateurs, they tend to leave in flowers such as continuously calling a large rooster “Huge Cock” in text. Just saying.

i could see her making a diplomatic visit to doom and getting involved with tom[/quote]Disregarding the foreshadowing surname D’Vils, her personality does seem to be a reasonable match for Tom’s.
Of course, Grove-style open relationships might be a bit advanced for Tom, unless he gets another sleep dose of Orcus’ experiences and attitudes.
GameGraphix, you could try your hand at fanfic…

If it looks like a Phonenix and quacks like a Phoenix… does it really matter that it’s a mallard in a costume?Besides, I’m starting to see where you might be going with this whole Orcus, Dis, Tommus, Rupert thingy.

Are the gods’ planes and afterlives actually directly related to spacetime dimensions, matter and energy, or is what makes refleca and materialized concepts possible, the simulational and computational nature of that form of existence?

MemberWhat’s so strange about the Rain Oxford book is that it goes to a lot of trouble to mention rabbits, and how vicious they are – that’s one of the original book’s unique features. Unless there’s some collaboration going on, Rain is essentially burning herself for plagiarism.

MemberAnother particular highlight is Verigas’ self-description and thoughts concerning the wizards, in the beginning of chapter 43.
If this was the quality norm of genre writing, I could retire and spend my days reading, instead of having to amuse myself with consulting.
