• I saw a headline for that vid on Huffington post yesterday, but couldn’t figure out what I was looking at, so didn’t watch it.

Good lord.! Where was that at that they have such monstrous spiders.

Giving that most of the worlds toughest fauna lives in Australia, I’m betting it’s there.

He does and can control/affect the weather in Nysegard, but as Mikey says it’s much more complex.

In the Abyss, there is no natural weather, so he’s basically “creating weather”

In Nysegard, there is natural weather and Doom does affect it: see the rain which I am making more prominent in Beta-1 and at the D’Orcing. So the problem in Nysegard is that there are many more factors affecting the weather.

In fact, we will see this at the Citadel. The Death Cheaters have been assigned to deal with the weather manipulation of the Storm Lords, and what they do is completely new to what we’ve seen. It’s shamanistic weather manipulation.

yeah, that’s not good, I think doing it too many times causes one to start to zone out and it quickly becomes less effective.

After we get through this, I am going to work more on getting/doing something better for this process. Something that is easier for people to find and vet changes.
Tom should just unexpectedly open an abyssal portal(or maybe an oubliette enhanced one) right next to lenamare while he’s inside his wards. This should occur while the council is in session, and tom should then say “Thank you, Warlock Lenamare, for your assistance. I will now take the book off your hands.”
Bwah hah hah hah!

Am I the only one hoping for the scene where Lennamare finally discovers Tom is the Demon Prince Lord Tommus.
How about Lenamare’s extra A-bomb he handed off to Jenn under the guise of some instruments? Think it has a god trigger? Were Jenn and Gastrope wily enough to stick it in Lenamare’s laundry basket?

Unfortunately, he gave it to them too late, as they were about to go through the gateway. Lenamare is not stupid after all, just egomaniacal

The plan is that Tom and Lenamare reuinite at the (next) siege of Freehold.

Not sure if that is book 4 or book 5.

He means Midgard, the mortal planes, the material planes.

The places where the people who really live there permanently are borne and die are incarnated and often reincarnated. (See discussions on this topic and Beragamos, Incubuses)

Incarnate literally means to encase in flesh, or meat. For example the word carne is Spanish/Italian is meat.

In Latin it is carnis or carnem etc.

The Outer Planes are all refleca and the Abyss—well the demons are not meat, their are psuedo bodies.

So…its a derogatory phrase used by demons for the “Planes of Men”
This is one of the things that is now bothering me for Apostles of Doom. Basically you have all of these different fights happening at roughly the same time. What sort of conflicts are happening before the end of the book? I hope Beta 1 and the ending won’t just be an easy but dramatic cakewalk in hindsight.
Yeah, that’s something I’m dealing with today….but cakewalk or not, the real drama isn’t so much in the battle, but in the lead up to the battle and in terms of various revelations/recognitions. As I have said, the plot hits a major turning point at the end of this book. That battle is simply the catalyst for a hard left/right turn to the next phase of the story.

in reply to: Orstemoothian Legal Speak #6875

A big part of it is the complexity of writing it, to be honest, however, what I decided was that it would not work on a military vessel in battle.

Thus, all that business on the Inferno about the transfer of power from Dante to Heron and the captain. Also, obviously, Dante is still doing it, but people are tuning him out and actively working to interrupt him before he gets going, or we fade away.

Also, as mentioned, Heron is old school, which is very legalistic, but much terser. See Heron’s opening scene in Book 1 when he talks about the younger generation and their “court speak” etc.

And finally, oddly, some people really don’t like it for some reason.

Anyway, that being said, I really would like to punch it up. If you guys can find locations where you think it would be fitting, let me know.

In particular, discussions between Dante and Salvatore (Hesselforthalus) would be one such place.

    ROFL

Now, I am going to have to watch their web series!

in reply to: Alpha-3 small things #6843

This book/series came up on the Amazon forum but since that is not particularly searchable, as far as I know, I can’t find what was said about it.

Given that you think it’s a stupid idea, I am guessing you weren’t thrilled with the series?

Now, to be clear as Net and Danu have said, Tomorcus doesn’t want to kill any deities, he just wants to lock them all up in his basement like a creepy guy in a horror movie.

in reply to: When will then next Doomalogue turn on? #6865

Exactly why I need to have them all go back to Doom (retroactively)
The alfar have set up a temple to Net on the Doomalogue. There is going to be a fight to turn it on.
in reply to: When will then next Doomalogue turn on? #6867

    Yep.

in reply to: Speak up! #6798

Yeah, I am not sure that rereading the entire thing is productive.

Any sections that change for Beta 1 will have highlight in table of contents and a comment on the side.

The trick comes with all the small edits.

For those that request it, I can provide a Word document with change tracking turned on. But I want to do that on a case by case basis.
