Well, he could leap long distances and great heights (like a Jedi). While to seemingly bumble around the battlefield, everything he did managed to destroy every battle droid around him.

The best explanation I’ve found was here:

    Ok

That is seriously convincing, and without reading ahead I came to the same end conclusion/guess after the drunken master arguments.

His physical feats I had always dismissed as simply his rather amphibious like nature.

His further arguments about mind control make sense. To me, part of the “horror” of the first three was how the hell did Jar Jar ever make it to the senate and get so high up in politics. It made no sense.

However, all of this makes a lot of sense. So much sense that I am now seriously tempted to watch the first three again. Something I have never done. I saw them in theaters and apparently, all joking aside, I mind blocked Jar Jar Binks from my memory. Seeing the example scenes, I remember them all–now–but I didn’t before. All of his actions and plot lines were gone from my memory until that post reminded me of them.

It’s like I was under the influence of some dark Sith Master to make me not consider any of this and just dismiss him.

However, the big problem is that while Snoke is hideously scarred, I don’t see how the two could be anatomically the same person. On the other hand, Palpatine didn’t look like his original self by the end of VI.

    Cool

Well, this was posted before the movie release, but you know we haven’t actually seen Snoke in person, only hologram, and like you said, Palpatine didn’t look so hideous until after his and Yoda’s little spat.

And that says nothing about how Jar Jar could be the power BEHIND the throne…especially now that Palpatine is gone.

    Kinda make you think…

I can’t help but think there’s some parallels here. A lot of truly dangerous people want to be seen as harmless non-threats. Yoda, Palpatine until his rise to power, Jar jar, Obi Wan in later years, Sammael, D’Vils, certain flying octapods…it stands to reason that the real power might not want to step into the spotlight and be the target of every hero in the galaxy.

I ruminating over book 2 and thinking what makes a god a god and a demon a demon, and I got to wondering about Concordenax. Did Concordenax bug out, become a god and secretly worms its way into the Etonian hierarchy. What if Tiernon was Concordenax?

    Talarius would flip.

I wonder if he would believe me if I told him that?

    It would be fun.

Of course, as everyone knows the Concordenax looks nothing remotely like Tiernon.

But then, there was a discussion in another topic about how the Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars VI looked nothing like the Emperor Palpatine in Episode I so who knows?

Eh, demons can shapeshift and since the base forms seem to be set when the energy pattern of the demon is formed I’d suspect that a god’s form is set by the godly energy and shaped by the perception of the faithful. Concordenax could shapreshift, set itself up as a god, collect the godly energies and recast his energy’s stable pattern into a new form. Ta da! New god.

Who knows, maybe Tom will become more Orc-ish.

Oh, that would be hilarious! Talarius would likely have a stroke, if he believed anyone about Tiernon being the Demon Father. But I really, really doubt it. Why would the Concordenax hate his own demons so much?

However, I’m pretty sure the Concordenax can shape shift. Every prince and archdemon we’ve seen so far can shift their shape, so why wouldn’t the Demon Father? That’s one of the main supports for the “Concordenax as Tom and Rupert’s Dad” theory rolling on the forum.

Still, while the Demon Father seems to be “missing”, I’m sure he’s going to play a large role later on.

Tizzy, you keep mentioning the Concordenax, and we know you’re old enough to have met him, so do you have anything to add?

On another note, I’m convinced that Tom needs to start pushing a little into the Outer Planes. He needs a beachhead out there, if nothing else. A place to jump from if things go the way I think they will. He needs to start thinking more strategically, rather than tactically. Granted, there hasn’t been a lot of time for him to do so, but since T-A-G has said AOD will span a greater time span, hopefully he’ll have the time necessary to consolidate and think a little more long term. Whether he wants to actually be a Dark Overlord or not, circumstances are likely going to force his hand. Might as well be a GOOD Dark Overlord, rather than a dead one.

Well, I have never seen the Concordenax change shape or form.

Always looks the same to me, leathery hide and all.

But then as I’ve observed, the Concordenax has been missing for some time now and perhaps that’s why no one can find the Concordenax?

There are certainly a lot of people looking.

On other fronts, Tom did mention something about trying to shape change into an orc form. I.e. an Orc version of his Edwyrd form.

Outer planes are seriously over rated btw. They require a lot of work and effort. Guessing that’s why Phaestus and Sekhmet’s buddies are holed up on Uropia. And down in the Abyss….hmm…I suppose no one is living on Anuropia at the moment.

Then of course, there are the Doomalogues, those will start repowering up once Doom has the energy to spare. Somebody will probably have to have a plan to start D’Orcing those. But I’ll leave that to Darg-krallnom and the other commanders. None of my business.

Actually, that’s a good question. What happened to the D’Orcs that had been stationed at the Doomalogues?

You guys haven’t seen any D’Orcs wandering around your plane have you? They’re pretty easy to spot, large burly orc like people with wings and hooves. Pretty sure you’d recognize one if you saw one.

    Cool idea!

    And not completely far off.

Doomalogues were Doom Analogues; local Doom outposts on the Planes of Orc. (Always a large volcano) That’s where the major “Temples to Orcus” were, so when possible that’s where the D’Orc ascensions occurred. Of course, that often wasn’t possible, combat wounds and all. In which case, hope for a shaman with an anima jar or one who could summon a D’Orc shaman, quickly.

Interestingly, if there was a high probability of death coming soon; great warriors who had been “pre-approved” would mount an expedition to the Doomalogue on their world to be ceremonially inducted and given a linked artifact that would transport their soul to the Doomalogue upon death.

The big problem is that there was only one Doomalogue per world and so the journey could be pretty long. Hence the shaman with the anima jar capturing the soul and then escorting it to the Doomalogue.

There were also cases of field promotions; but that was rather risky because you a shaman had to be able to contact Orcus in the middle of battle and pray for ascension. I don’t really know all the details/options; just stories I’ve heard from various D’Orcs. I mean, I’ve obviously seen ascensions but not every possible variant.

There are apparently volcanoes in Oostermoth. Also, there are some south of Zilquar’s school and a LOT in southern Etonia.

I’m really hoping for Oostermoth. Yes, it will make getting to the volcano a bit hard, but it’ll be so much fun.

Eh, they’ll just argue that Tommus abandoned his property. Of course, an army of D’Orcs is also a strong argument against.

I’ve always that to be a very impressive argument myself.

Of course we might be getting the opportunity to test that out.

I was overcome this morning with the smell of spoiled milk. Not sure what that means, exactly, but it sure wasn’t… b…u…t…t…a…H!

I am so happy to see someone remembers my old show “Coffee Talk”

I had terrible syndication problems with it. The only way I could get it on the air was to package as if it were a skit on this late night show on a couple Earths.

Now, if will excuse me, I’m feeling a little verkempt by this thoughtfulness.

    Talk amongst yourselves…

I don’t think the Doomlogue is in Oorstemoth, as amusing as that would be. As a convicted felon, I doubt Tom has any rights under their law. It’s probably in someplace we haven’t seen before, like The Duchy of Tregfeld. Do any of the Chronicles of Astlan end up in Tregfeld?

Something else to wonder…these Doomlogues…did they have permanent gates to Mt. Doom? What’s going to show up when they power up?
