Well, since Doom doesn’t do resurrections that would be our only option to get him back.

Of course, he can’t die in the Abyss, so it would have to happen on a material plane at which point it’s a race between Tom and Hilda to see who gets to him first!

She (or any of the other avatars or major priests–Teragdor, Iskerus) could ressurrect him normally, Tom would have to D’Orc him.

Hmm, writing that down and seeing it in print, it just struck me for the first time in 70,000 years that that may sound a little obscene. :-“

Well, that actually brings up a small discussion in CoA:ITW.

All the gods and their priests can do resurrections, but if it’s complicated, you go to a priest of Hendel, they are the best healers.

All priests can heal, but they have specializations other than healing that are attuned to their gods. E.g. Hilda has lots of combat rituals/powers. Torean’s people do tracking, location, and hunting, etc. Krinna’s do wind related/Enchantment things, Namora’s do water and Sorcery related things.

In the case of the 5 Siblings, they are true elemental affiliated deities so their priests can do things similar to what wizards of the same element can do, plus healing/and or other combinations.

Actually CoA goes into quite a bit of discussion on resurrection, since it’s something that Kristof has to think about quite a bit. Both of his parent’s sides have had serious resurrection issues/experience. His father, the Emperor has access to the best healers in Astlan, from Hendel, and they’ve had remarkably bad luck with bring back his former wives….his mother’s father loses heirs at a rather alarming rate to “unrecoverable deaths” I.e. situations where resurrection doesn’t work.

It will probably be mid year, there will be a beta first. I think T-A-G is hoping to start that by May, if not sooner. He keeps getting distracted by too many projects, some of them not related to the books (staring at the Internet, jaw agape as a certain archdemon creates havoc on Earth).

He’s currently writing book iv, CoA:ITW, and OOA: and Who in the Abyss is that? (the free character guide/background ebook)

On multiple occasions I’ve offered him a private office in Doom and a complimentary full membership to the DoomSpa along with a coupon for 1 free Torture session per day (to get the kinks out and motivate him). Unfortunately, he has so far refused to take me up on this more than generous offer.

    Indeed!

Have you had a session? She is quite remarkable! She prioritizes Doom staff before outsiders, so getting an appointment takes time…

Well…it did in the day, I’m guessing during the interregnum or whatever it was called her schedule was much more open.

I have never met a therapist with more skill using molten accupokers! She’s also fantastic for the odd bout of hemorrhoids! Those molten-pinchers of hers can squeeze them right off in a jiffy!

Her tonsillectomies were a bit harsh, dry mouth and such as you might imagine. I limited myself to one tonsillectomy per month.

Silly me, but it just required too much I-scream, so you know, need to limit it, if you get too much of a horrific thing, you sort of get burnt out…OK, literally burnt out–yes, but I meant figuratively–you know metaphysical and all….

T-A-G is the same way, however, this whispersync read and listen at the same time sounds sort of interesting…

    Ahh

    Good question!

Well, we demons have a very simple method, we get summoned to that world, or a new demon appears bound to a wizard in that world.

    For other’s, it’s a bit trickier.

Not really sure what the gods do, but I know they have scouting teams and they have some mechanism for detecting new worlds, and it’s not so much as simply new worlds, but new civilizations that are ripe for cultivating. Now how to detect?

I am not that technical/magical, but I remember Phaestus, Volund and the Altrusions discussing various devices that could scan for changes in mana “churn” which would allow them to locate mana using cultures in the multiverse. I assume the gods have variants of these, but my understanding was that it was very tricky. It was often easier to pick a “known” localverse and find other worlds in that than completely new localverses and worlds. The haystack is just so huge.

Also, there tends to be a settler rush once a new world is found, other gods/pantheons will try to “colonize” them as well.

Yes, however, they did detect Earth…of course, that wasn’t a truly low mana world until a certain deity who shall remain nameless started hoovering up all the mana.

Not only did his hench people drive the snakes from Ireland, they drove the magic from the planet….

It is going to be interesting…

First things first, will be finding an rescuing Melissance, he implied that in Book III, and I happen to have overheard him in Book IV.

Of course finding one person in the vastness of the Abyss may prove tricky, although, from Book III, apparently not as tricky as I would have thought.

I will say that there are going to be a number of shifting loyalties in Book IV

Incidentally see the BB/ button up above, that will insert codes for things like
Spoilers
It was not so much an anointing as Darflow Skragnarth sort of making that leap in describing his role in leading Doom’s charge against the Storm Lords, rather freaked poor Hilda out! [flapper]

    OOPS!

You may need to skip several sections in Volume 4. No reason. Just saying. Might be some monkey business going on.

And what the hell is up with Anderle? He’s been putting out a book a month for years. Does the man sleep, like, at ALL?
He’s probably a demon from the Abyss – they don’t need to sleep.

Tizzy – you ever heard of a demon named Michaleanderle???

Smells like brown sugar and vanilla. Very weird.

Oh? I guess Singkun will be talking in those chapters? Hmm… I wonder if there’ll be a new Loki to join Tizzy and Singkun
I should hope, I miss him so much. Gods (literally) he was fun to hang out with. Man could drink a Saint of Tiernon under the table!
