Well we dont know if Astlan Gods are immortal.
Definition of immortal being someone who is not able to die, no matter what.

I think the Astlan Gods are only as immortal as the Demons are, i.e. really hard to kill. Well mostly harder to kill than Demons.

We also dont know if an child of an god has the power of an god.
If its more like the Demon affspring: power of father + power of mother divided by two…

Korwin. Tizzy just yelled that they don’t die at all. They are perfect immortals. And if you read about those Greek and Roman gods you know that they are immortals as well. You can’t kill them.

And are you implying that gods doesn’t breed with other gods? You know that doesn’t really make sense right?

And even if gods don’t breed as quickly as mice, their immortality would make up for it. Even if there is a low birthrate, say there is a god born every ten years, that would mean in a thousand years there are a hundred gods born. Then the birthrate isn’t going to stay that low. These new gods would then proceed to breed themselves. The number of gods, the number of gods born, the birthrate would grow up exponentially. Soon, the world would be overrun with gods. Really this is just a simple logic and math.

And even if they can be killed. Would the mortality rate be enough to keep their numbers low? As you say they are very, very difficult to kill. Say lets give a mortality rate of 1 god death every 500 years, would that be enough to control the population?

The god’s population is limited by the number of their followers. A person may only give them so much power and the old gods likely wouldn’t want to share with the younger. So an increase in mortals would give the immortals more power, which would in turn support a larger population of immortals. But, to many mortals without the fear of god would be bad as they would then seek out how to surpass the gods and would not supplement their power. An atheistic ideology is what they must prevent so that they can maintain power, as a god without any followers is no god.

That is just your presumption. There are variety of culture around the world and there are variety of ‘relationships’ the people have with their gods.

Many know well the, Christian God and the Greek and Roman gods. The Christian God still being served today and people know how the followers serve the Christian God. There are also similar gods in many culture. They have only one god that had existed for eternity and have made everything. They serve their god with great reverence and respect, often creating temples, churches and altars for their gods.

Many people know less about how the Greek and Roman gods are served. Though they build temples for their major gods (the other gods don’t have any) the general populace don’t actually serve or ‘follow.’ They just visit the gods they seek service from and give offering. So a sailor might visit the temple of Poseidon for a blessing of safe sailing, they would give offering to Hades so that he would accept a love ones soul into the nether realm, etc. Anyone could go to any of the temple they choose. They don’t actually have to follow only one. They just go to give offering to the gods that suit their needs. Many other culture serve their gods like this. Multiple gods which they serve or give offering according to their needs.

There also are gods that are served like how the Rods serve their Tiernon. One god with devoted followers that serve it. But these kind of religious culture usually isn’t large, like the Rods in the book. This culture is associated with cults and many people don’t view them as a valid ‘religion’ as other religious cultures are.

There are those tribal gods that tribal communities (like those Native American Indians long ago) believe in. They don’t actually serve them or become followers to these gods. They just, in a way, use their gods to explain the world and nature. To explain lighting and thunder and rivers and earthquakes. Many of the stories of their gods don’t even give reverence to them, most the gods are mocked and tricked or go from one misadventures to another. Popular of these stories are the trickster stories where the human heroes would trick these gods, usually to avoid punishment.

Then there are also cultures that have ‘living’ gods; usually the ruler of that place. In Ancient China the Emperor is often heralded as a god, an offspring or descendants of dragons. Ancient Egypt is also like this, they have their ‘spiritual’ gods like Ra, but they also worship their Pharaoh as a living god.

Religion is really an interesting subject to study and there are very large number of religions, both dead and living, with variety of gods, to study from.

I was thinking of, a kid of an Demon Prince might be as low as an type 3 Demon.

But thinking further on the subject, even a kid of two type 6 gods would still need worshippers to become an god, right?

They also might kill of their offspring like the Titans tried?

If you look at the high tech gods, you know the Geeks, who’s gods lived on Olympus, making cameras, apparently…some children were mortal and died, others became minor gods.

It’s all about the worshipers….
