I am also having this problem. Also, what happens if I post a Theory about a Secret and I’m right? Does that count as a spoiler?

In the books, claims of being an Animage or mentioning the society is typically met with some variation of “What? Really?” and “does that still exist?” In the words of Sier Bavron, “Are you telling us the society is still around?” So you can imagine my surprise when I was reading the Cartography section and stumbled across the nation of Etonia, which is apparently governed by the Society of Workers and the Society of Learned Fellows, with the latter being composed of 120 master level Animages. It was my impression that the Society of learned fellows was, if not a secret society, at least a subtle society. I would also ask that someone tell me to which section of the forum I should direct my questions regarding the Council of Wizardry, and wizardry in general. Last but not least, should wizard/animage/etc. be capitalized?

What’s the deal? Maelen claimed that it was “not that hard” for a powerful magic user to slow or even reverse the aging process when he was trying to justify “Edwyrd” being Rupert’s father; he revealed that he himself was 90. Jen made it seem like the practice might be rare, yet the knowledge that it was possible was common (at least among wizards). Yet, aside from Trevin D’Vils, no one on the Council appears to be doing so. Alexandros Mien is supposed to be one the greatest wizards in the last several generations, yet he floats around as a withered old man, and everyone seems super impressed that he made it to 120. Even though Trevin has been active long enough for Hilda to remember her from 200 years ago, or whenever it was she died. And even if she wasn’t on the Council, it would have heard of it if Trevin had been making enough noise to be heard of in Rivenrock, a supposed backwater. Also, why didn’t Exador claim to have this ability? Even if he “dies” every couple centuries to remove suspicion, it seems like it would be easier than creating a new identity every few decades.

P.S. By my math, Lenamare would be 37 in PV 440, yet he is consistently referred to as “old”. Why?

Why don’t the orcs have gods? Do orcs not generate mana, or can they not direct it to a deity, or what? Is “god” something a being can become if they are worshiped enough? Was Orcus a proper god, gaining power from his worshipers? Could he not do so because he wasn’t a god? In either case, why didn’t another god or pantheon claim the orcs as worshipers after his death? Is the power of a god is reflected by, or derived from, worshipers? If power is derived from worshipers, it seems like they were leaving power on the table by not recruiting them.

Are the council states more like a republic/country, or is it more like a United Nations sort of thing? To me, it always seemed like it was a sovereign nation, but I’ve noticed a few things that make me think it may be… something else.
