It helps that killing demons permanently is a bit hard 😉 Mind you, he was actually directly responsible for the permanent death of at least one demon when he killed that poor mage miss cast a disintegration cloud during the siege of L’s school, although admittedly I doubt he realized how badly that could have ended 😉
