Murgatroy: Several hours earlier, DOA + 1, Shortly after lunch.

In the scene where Gastrope, Vaselle, Damien and the Orcs are having the discussion…..

Gastrope shook his head, “I’m not sure they are that bad, but they definitely seem to have went a bit off the rails when they learned of the D’Orcs.”

The term “off the rails” – this traditionally refers to a train wreck – eg. a train going off the rails

As Astlan is a low-tech high-mana world I doubt that they would have this saying….

Astlan has mine carts but not trains.

don’t you remember the roller coaster ride Gastrope and Jenn went through.

although the dwarves might have this kind of tech level.
trains, tanks, mechs. but using magitech.

we have not seen how advanced the Dwarves have gotten.

they have built a cloud ship. they could build a tank that floats using geomagnetic magic.

depending on how deep the Dwarven mines are i can see them building a train.

but I’m fairly sure that Gastrope had never seen anything like that before – I would assume that most people had not…..so it wouldn’t be a common saying that Gastrope would use or that other people would necessarily recognize

The dwarves could have made a amusement park with a advertisement of “it’s so fun it’s off the rails”

Or something like that. . .

Reminds me of the wierd & funny Chinese to English translations fails that appeared during the Chinese Olympics…

Great catch. Gastrope’ knows about rails thanks to the Grove train ride, however, it would not be a common expression.

How about:

Gastropé shook his head, “I’m not sure they are that bad, but they definitely seem to have gotten bees in their plate armor when they learned of the D’Orcs.”

[lol]

Oh, god, I didn’t see these earlier, some of those are far more egregious than others but all are great.
